Pray for Peace…

Pray for Peace…

We are told to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Sadly, I think the streets of Jerusalem are quieter tonight than the streets of the great cities of our own nation.

This is a confusing time. While some people are standing up against injustice, others are eager to take advantage of the unrest for their own purposes. It can be hard to tell who is doing what or why, and we need to be discerning about where we get our information. I’ve had a reminder today of just how misleading social media can be. Fortunately, it’s not my responsibility to sort all of that out. God knows what’s what. However, I do believe that at a time like this, we are called to pray.

These are God’s words to Israel, spoken through the prophet Amos. Please pray with me that God would help us achieve this in our nation:

…let justice roll on like a river,

righteousness like a never-failing stream! (Amos 5:24)

AMEN

Amen means “let it be so”. I’d love to see a whole string of “Amens” after this prayer. If you have joined us, would you scroll down and write “Amen” in the comments?
